Signed "Tiffany & Co," on the movement and on the porcelain dial, this style of bronze and beveled glass clock was called a "crystal" or "Paris Regulator" clock. This luxurious antique clock dates from around 1900.
The 8 day movement is signed "Japy Freres" and "Made in France," and keeps excellent time and strikes the hour and half hour. Professionally cleaned, oiled and regulated, it keeps excellent time. We see a small scratch on the hand-painted porcelain dial, there is a chip at the top right corner of the front door, see photo. There are minor scratches and wear to the burnished bronze case, see photos.
The original pendulum has two glass tubes filled with genuine mercury, thus "compensating" for temperature changes and making the clock more accurate.
Overall size of this beautiful and classic clock from America's most famous jeweler is 8" wide, 6" deep and just over 13" tall.
