A superior quality 12 drawer triple section file cabinet is quarter sawn oak, signed "Library Bureau Sole Makers." This wonderful office furniture was made for the Carnegie Foundation, and was given to public libraries across the country at the direction of the famous Carnegie steel magnate in the early 1900's.
Cast bronze pulls and label holders are original. Drawers work smoothly on wooden slides and have working adjustable file rests inside. The rods that would have held the old paper board dividers are gone, see photos.
This standard letter size file is modular, it separates into three separate banks of drawers for easier moving. The deep finish is in excellent condition, sides and backs are paneled.
Measurements are 50" wide, 28" deep and 51 1 /2" tall.
