A late Victorian or Eastlake period bed from around 1880 has been expertly adapted to fit a queen size mattress as shown. Solid walnut with burl panels, the satiny finish is excellent.
Incised carving is characteristic of the era on this American made furniture. Wood slats are included to support a standard modern queen size mattress and spring unit as shown, they are 20" thick together.
Dimensions of this grand antique are 89" long, 70" wide, the head board is 73" tall and the footboard is 36" high.
