Expertly carved in the late Victorian or Eastlake period about 1880, this pump or reed organ is in remarkably fine condition. It plays well with rich tone.
The solid walnut case has its original finish that is very well preserved. The imposing gallery has a beveled mirror and "quilted" panels. Under the music stand is songbook storage, the key cover slides in and out. Right and left are candle or lamp stands, the right one has a stain.
Grand American antique furniture, this working musical instrument is signed "A.W. White, Chicago, Ill." Measurements are 4' wide, 24" deep and 6' 11" tall.
