Signed "Child & Bishop, Cleveland, Ohio," an authentic Victorian rosewood melodeon or early reed organ dates from the 1840's. The original finish is remarkably well preserved with warm antique patina and lots of character - mars and wear, see photos.
The right pedal pumps the bellows, the left pedal is a "swell," to increase the volume. The keys that work on this musical instrument actually play quite well, about a dozen keys are silent, and we have not done any restoration to the reeds or bellows. Original natural keys are intact as shown.
The music desk folds down and this historic furniture can be closed to form a table. Dimensions are 48" wide, 24" deep and 31" tall.
