Made for a watchmaker about 1880 to repair clocks, a solid walnut workbench has 12 drawers with various dividers.
The original foot operated flywheel was used to operate polishing and turning lathes, holes in the top were for leather connecting belts.
There is lots of antique character on this American made furniture - stains, losses and mars. A rim around the top contained errant screws and small parts.
From an age when timepieces were repaired and never thrown away, this nostalgic desk was used standing or with a stool.
Size is 52" wide, 20" deep and 36 1/2" tall.
