An opulent tea and coffee service includes a lavish butler's tray that can be used separately. All pieces are signed "Wilcox," and footed pieces are marked "hand-chased," referring to the exquisite "repousse" (hand-pushed) artistry in every piece - the coffee and teapots, covered sugar, creamer and waste.
The silverplate finish is very fine, with only the slightest wear and a few tiny scratches. The only significant wear we see is in the bottom of the waste, the teapot handle has been soldered by a professional silversmith, and is strong and sturdy - see photo. Dating from the 1920's, this is a magnificent antique set.
Wilcox later joined International Silver Co. The tray measures 28 1/2" long, 18" wide and 1 1/2" high. Coffee pot size is 10 1/2" tall, 6" wide and 10" long, the teapot is 7 1/2" tall, 6 1/2" wide and 11" long, the creamer is 5 1/2" tall, the sugar is 6" tall, and the waste is 3" tall and almost 5" in diameter.
