Signed by famous Victorian clockmaker, "Ansonia, NY," this elegant clock is a style known as a "Paris Regulator." Made just before 1900, the embossed gold cast case has beveled sides and doors.
The porcelain dial has tiny chips around the keyholes, and the worn "Ansonia" name is at the bottom. There are tiny flakes in the glass of the back door, also a few spots and wear to the luxurious original gold finish.
Newly cleaned and oiled, the 8 day movement with hour and half-hour strike works perfectly. The original pendulum on this exquisite antique has glass tubes that appear to be mercury filled, but are false. Size of this spectacular American timepiece is 9" wide, 8" deep and 16 1/2" tall.
