A large cast iron and hardwood wine or cider press was used to squeeze fruit for juice, which poured out of a spout at the base. Fun to use in a wine cellar or shop, this press has beautiful patina.
Signed "Chiarugi Bros., Chicago," a large handle is mounted on a massive screw to squish out every last drop. We have not tested the mechanism, but it appears operational - there is a ratchet mechanism to turn the press.
Dating from the early 1900's, size of this picturesque antique is 30" diameter and 51" tall.
