This Victorian child's Boston rocker was handmade of solid pine, maple and ash in New England about 1850. A skilled country carpenter carved this American classic in the "Boston rocker" shape, made famous when President John Kennedy was photographed in his similar rocking chair.
The satin finish has lots of country character, mars and stains, plus old repairs with square nails. Very solid and usable, this charming child's furniture measures 16" wide, 15" deep, 26" tall, and the seat is about 10" tall.
