Art Nouveau Carved Mahogany Sofa and Chair

This beautifully designed Art Nouveau settee and chair has curved and graceful lines. Carved of solid mahogany this sofa and armchair date from about 1910.

The sturdy frames have beautiful patina, warm color and a few mars.

There is Biedermeier influence in this stunning antique furniture, which is larger and much more comfortable than typical dainty and delicate furnishings of the period.

Art Nouveau includes the art of Tiffany, Galle and Majorelle, and is also called "Jugendstil."

The deep seats have supportive springs, and the old velvet upholstery has not been cleaned. When reupholstered, the seats could be rewebbed, but are very usable as they are.

Measurements of the settee are 6'2" long, 30" deep and 41" tall, the armchair is 32" wide, 32" deep and 36" tall, seats are 17" high.
