Made for a Chicago barber shop about 1915, this narrow cabinet could be nicely recycled in a bathroom. Solid birch with subtle ebony inlaid banding, the finish is very fine with a few mars for antique patina and character.
At the base is a hamper for towels with a tin panel door. The glass door with a "sterilizer" decal was for combs and brushes. A drawer in the middle has evidence of a break in - there is a hole above the lock and a chip on the drawer, the lock is disabled. At the top is a door with an original carved plate glass mirror, inside is a white glass shelf. Brass and green glass hardware are original.
Measurements of this nostalgic American furniture are 15" wide, 10" deep and 78" tall.
