Bombe Marquetry Sideboard, Mirror and Marble

This truly magnificent bombe sideboard or credenza has intricate marquetry, a thick marble top and a carved dark gold mirror. The deeply carved and pierced mirror frame has a deep toned "Florentine" gold finish. There is just enough "smoke" in the plate glass mirror to show its age.
Dating from about 1915, the finish is excellent for its age, there is wonderful warm patina on the inlaid burl and fruitwood. Notice usual shrinkage separations, especially on the side, and mars at the edges, see photos.
The gracefully shaped Brescia marble top is in very fine condition with beautiful natural graining. Heavy cast brasses are also original. Two drawers have hand-cut dovetails, below are two doors.
Bold and dramatic, this antique furniture measures 5' 10" wide, 23" deep, 6' 4 1/2" tall including the removable mirror, and the marble top is 40 1/2" high.
