This genuine antique solid bronze sculpture shows a man reclining on a lion skin with its head and paws visible around the edges.
The original patina is very dark, with just enough wear to show its age from about 1900. The nude male figure is intriguing, he is fairly sprawled on the lion skin, and raises his finger, perhaps as an entreaty, possibly to make a point. His expression is impassioned, but the sculptor's intent is unclear, making this artwork interestingly subject to interpretation of the viewer, he could be tipsy as well.
He rests on a thick rough cut marble base, and we see no damage or signature. Height of this thought-inspiring work of art is 14" and the base is 15" x 11."
