A magnificent Victorian cabinet was hand-carved in high relief, and has leaded stained glass doors with jewels. The artistry in walnut hardwood is outstanding, the original finish is very fine with warm patina, and the top surface has been revarnished.
There are splits, shrinkage separations and some mars that give antique character, see photos. The stained and beveled glass has no breaks but does have tiny edge flakes as shown.
Embossed brasses are original. Drawers have hand-cut dovetails and chamfered bottoms.
This historic furniture from northern France disassembles for moving. Whether used as a sideboard, back bar or china cabinet, this is imposing and well proportioned, dating from about 1890. Dimensions are 5' 1" wide, 23" deep, 7' 11" tall and the base is 38" high.
