Dating from the 1880's, a solid oak spool cabinet has a leather top and attached base. Used in a general store to hold spools of thread, this antique has an attached base with a larger drawer that appears original. One of the four small drawers has dividers and an inkwell is on top.
There is lots of patina and character - stains and mars - the finish is in very fine condition. The sign for "Clarks Cotton" is so perfect, it must be a later replica.
Size of this picturesque American furniture is 32" wide, 21" deep, 39 1/2" tall, the desk top slopes up from 38" at the front.
