This understated fireplace screen from about 1900 is solid copper and brass, and shows both Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau influence.
The finish has soft antique patina on this heavy weight American made antique, used as a "thermostat" in front of a hot fire to keep feet from getting too warm.
Size is 16 1/2" wide, almost 6" deep and 25 1/2" tall.
