A rugged antique 1890's carpenter's work bench makes a great kitchen island or table for wine tasting and appetizers.
Solid hard maple and oak, there are 2 working vises or clamps with huge wooden screws. A recessed tray originally held tools on this American country furniture from about 1900. Hand cut dovetails and mortise and tenon joints secure the frame together.
The superb satiny finish is very warm with wonderful antique patina and character - stains, mars and wear. Whether building a door, cracking walnuts or enjoying wine and cheese, this picturesque American crafted bench or counter is marvelous.
For handling, the top lifts off the base. Measurements including the handles on the vise clamps are 7' long, 39" deep and 34 1/2" tall.
