This Empire period four poster bed was originally a "rope" bed with ropes for support before the invention of the coil spring mattress in 1865.
- American antique 1840s bedroom furniture
- Beautiful mahogany with patinated brass hardware
- Old crazed varnish has been cleaned and preserved with a coat of clear finish
- Minor mars for antique character
- New steel rails & cross supports included as shown for a standard modern full or double mattress & spring
- Bed setup is not included
Bed size is 85" long and 56" wide. Headboard is 44.5" tall and the footboard is 33.5" tall. Slats sit 16.5" from ground and the demonstrator mattress is 14" thick. Interior dimensions of the bed frame are 76” long and 51.5” wide. Posts are 85.5" tall.
