Deeply hand carved in the 1700's, this English sideboard has had numerous restorations over the centuries.
Richly detailed, every surface has hand planing marks. Hewn of solid oak, there are cut nails and wooden pegs. Pulls and knobs are old but not original on this antique furniture.
The old wax finish has been buffed and polished, so all that is needed to maintain the historic patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and there are shrinkage separations from age, see photos. Traditional Celtic motifs are fascinating.
Size is 83" wide, 22" deep and 42" tall.
