Hand carved of solid oak in France about 1870, a magnificent classical bookcase or armoire has fluted columns with Ionic capitals. The original finish is very well preserved on this antique furniture. Waxed and polished, all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Shelves adjust on wooden supports, the door has a working lock.
This historic library bookcase has some deterioration from damp stone walls along the back side.
Measurements are 55" wide, 21" deep and 8' tall, the interior is 14 1/2" deep.
