French Hand Colored Africa Map of Egypt, Nubia & Abyssinia or Ethiopia

A hand colored engraved map of Africa in French shows "Egypte, Nubie et de Abbyssinie," or Egypt, Nubia and Abyssinia, or modern Ethiopia. The age is unknown, the paper appears to be in very fine condition, numbered in pencil, "171/ 500."

The modern frame with glass is from a shop in Cairo, Egypt, whose label is on the backside from about 25 years ago. There is a gold liner around the mat of the mottled gold frame, which has wear as shown. There is a little film on the underside of the glass, but we have not opened the sealed back of the frame for inspection.

Overall size is 29" x 26" and 1" deep.
