Georgian Chippendale Carved Desk, Leather Top

Stately Georgian or Chippendale design is beautifully illustrated in this carved English desk with a tooled leather panel top. The gleaming finish is excellent on all sides of this mahogany desk, and the drawer fronts have matched flame grain.

Carved ball and claw feet are distinctive on this vintage furniture from about 50 years ago. There are small mars to the leather top, see photos.

Drawers have exquisite tiny hand-cut dovetails and the carved rope molding around the top and the bow front is marvelous.

This desk is three separate pieces that lock together securely. An engraved plate is signed "Maple and Co." Dimensions of this worldly desk are 55" long, 30" deep, 31" tall and the kneehole is 25" high and 23" wide.
