This wonderful late Georgian gateleg dropleaf table from the late 1700's is beautiful for dining, a buffet, breakfast or behind a sofa.
Both solid mahogany tops are single wide planks that have richly figured grain and are hand planed. Entirely hand made legs are secured with carved wooden pegs, the gateleg swings out on a carved wooden hinge.
The polished old finish is beautiful with lots of warm antique character - mars, stains and wear. There are old losses to the edges, see photos. Sturdy and usable antique furniture, the iron hinges appear original.
Measurements of this historic English table when closed are just over 45" wide, 19" deep and 29" tall, with the dropleaf raised, the top is 43 1/2" by just over 45."
