Often called a rice plantation bed, this bed was designed to keep sleepers cool by being high off the floor and the posters were perfect for draping mosquito nets.
- American vintage 4 poster king size bed signed "Councill Craftsman"
- Solid mahogany with carved rice motifs
- Original varnish has been cleaned and preserved with a coat of clear finish
- Minor wear for vintage charm
- Brass hardware is original
- Top finials are removable, bed can be disassembled into many pieces if desired
Bed size is 88" long and 82.5" wide. Headboard is 46.5" tall. Overall height is 87" and without finials, height is 78.5". Slats sit 19" from ground and the demonstrator mattress is 16" thick. Interior dimensions of the bed frame are 80” long and 76” wide.
