Signed "Art Mission by Globe Wernicke of Cincinnati, Ohio," about 1900, this three section stacking Arts & Crafts period lawyer or barrister bookcase is quarter sawn oak.
The original finish is very well preserved, waxed and buffed so all that is needed to maintain the antique patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. There is a little uneveness in the top, see photos. The base and top are also separate stacking modules.
Books fit up to 9 1/2" wide and 8 1/2" tall in the top section, 10" tall in the middle and 12" tall in the lower section.
Overall size is 34 1/2" wide, 11" deep and 51" tall.
