A palatial triple bookcase was hand carved in northern Italy about 1900, and has three dimensional heads, lion paws, classical fluted columns and deep moldings. Solid wormy walnut with an original finish in very fine condition with small mars at the edges for character, see photos.
Waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its deep luster and patina. Raised panels and the bold bracketed crown are traditional. Doors have hand wrought iron grills over glass, original locks still work. Interior shelves adjust on wooden supports.
As is usual for large European antique furniture, it is possible to disassemble for moving.
Measurements of this stately cabinet are 76" wide, 26" deep and 93" tall.
