A magnificent library desk or writing table from the north of Italy has sculpted three dimensional classical panels, dating from about 1915.
Masterfully hand carved details include scroll work and deep moldings. The top has been revarnished for durability, the base is original and extremely well preserved on walnut and cherry with very minor mars at the edges. Waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm antique patina. Working locks are original on dovetailed drawers.
Measurements are 67" long, 34" deep, 31" tall and legroom is 25" underneath.
