Japanese Dragon & Phoenix Carved Meiji 1880 Antique Lacquered Chair with Arms

Spectacular three dimensional carved dragons and phoenix birds in solid pine is remarkable on this late 1800's "Meiji" period antique Asian armchair from Japan.

Artistic sculpting is outstanding, the frame is tight and strong. The gleaming dark restored finish is in excellent condition. There is a shrinkage separation from age in the seat, see photos.

Measurements are 30" wide, 22" deep, 45" tall, the seat is 19" high and 18" deep.
