This Victorian furniture with marble top and beveled mirror was intended to hold a bowl and pitcher set in a bedroom during the days before plumbing - today it might be a server, bar or vessel sink vanity.
Hand-made of walnut in Scandinavia about 1890, the original finish is very fine with small shrinkage separations from age and warm antique patina. Brasses are original, drawers have hand cut dovetails. The arched mirror has a little smoke and a silver loss, see photo. It is either charming or could be resilvered if desired.
The creamy marble top and shelf is in very good condition with a satiny finish and some tiny pitting that is natural, see photos.
Classic furniture for many uses, this historic piece can be disassembled for easier handling. Dimensions are 46" wide, 21" deep, 6' 6" tall and the main marble top is 35" high.
