Monumental 1870 Antique Fireplace Mantel, Surround and Hood

Architectural salvage from an 1870 era French country chateau, a remarkable monumental fireplace mantel and surround has a separate hood. Deep moldings and classical walnut panels are well proportioned.

The glowing finish is excellent with warm antique patina. Beautifully figured wide planks are book matched at the corners of the paneled hood. There are warps, chips and shrinkage separations from age for character, see photos.

Hand hewn with wonderful character, the mantel itself can be unbolted into manageable pieces for moving.

The fire opening is 50" wide and 53 1/2" high. Ready for your castle, mantel and surround size is 7' 2" wide, 75" tall and 18" deep, the hood is 55" tall for a total 10' 10" tall.
