This 15 drawer oak file may have been used for maps, nautical charts, architectural drawings, botanical prints or artwork. The adjustable easel top has a sturdy support mechanism with 14 positions.
Drawers slide smoothly, each has a "porthole" in the bottom to push up drawings - oak handles and a brass label holder.
The rich brown finish is superb on this vintage furniture from about 30 years ago. Two separate pieces for easier handling, there are wheels built into the base.
Drawers accommodate paper up to 37" wide and 24" deep. Ten upper drawers are 1" depth, 5 lower drawer are 2" depth. Overall size is 42" wide, 29" deep and 41" tall with the easel lowered to flat, 47" tall when fully raised.
