A four drawer quarter sawn oak file cabinet is signed on original bronze hardware, "Library Bureau, Sole Makers." Paneled on the sides, these superior cabinets were furnished by the Andrew Carnegie Foundation to libraries across the country. Dating from about 1910, the standard letter size drawers all slide smoothly and have label holders.
Solid quarter sawn oak, the brown finish is quite good, and there is just enough wear, especially at the edges, to give this antique American office furniture a little character and patina.
Measurements are 18" wide, 28" deep and 52" tall.
