Said to be from Pennsylvania, a large country chest or dresser was entirely hand crafted about 1840. Solid cherry, pine and poplar with hand planing marks, there are losses at the edges and shrinkage separations from age for a little antique character.
The restored finish is in excellent condition. Large drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms on this American made furniture. Rear legs are rebuilt and there have been various restorations over the years.
Measurements are 44" wide, 21" deep and 46 1/2" tall.
