A spectacular Renaissance design sideboard, server or buffet could be a credenza for a hall or library, and dates from about 1890. Hand carved high relief panels, moldings and three dimensional lion paw feet are masterfully detailed in solid walnut.
This furniture from a palazzo in the north of Italy has a lustrous finish with warm patina, in excellent condition with minor mars at the edges for character. Deep moldings have bold proportions. Knobs and door pulls with faces are original, upper galleries lift off for easier moving.
Size of this grandly scaled antique is 6' 6" long, 24" deep, 6' 4 1/2" tall and the base cabinet is 40" high.
