A Victorian Romanesque design fireplace mantel is architectural salvage from about 1880. Quarter sawn oak with high relief carving and an armorial crest, the original finish is very well preserved with some crackling from age, see photos.
The dramatic arch and columns are imposing on this American made antique furniture from Chicago. Measurements are 61" wide, 14" deep, 74 1/2" tall, the fire opening is 46" wide and 53 1/2" high.
