A set of six dining solid oak dining chairs were hand carved with cameos of a bridal couple.
The finish is in excellent condition on strong and tight frames. Lift out seats are natural woven rush on this antique set.
Brittany or Bretagne is a maritime province of northwest France. Formerly a separate country, the "Breton" language is still spoken. Famous for their cultural traditions - distinctive dress and wooden shoes - the local hand-carved furniture has outstanding workmanship, using native local hardwoods with picturesque traditional motifs.
Heirloom furniture traditionally descended with the daughters of a family as part of their dowry.
Each chair measures 18" wide, 20" deep, 43" tall and seats are 18" high.
