In classic Sheraton design, these six solid mahogany dining chairs have beautifully carved backs and Marlborough legs. Newly upholstered in European fabric, the wide saddle seats are very comfortable on this vintage American set from about 1940.
These chairs have been expertly re-glued for strength and durability, the joints are tight and solid. Chairs are the hardest used of all furniture, they need more gluing, tightening and restoration than another household furnishing.
Our skilled woodworkers have checked for problems, disassembled, removed old glue, applied fresh glue and clamped these chairs to give them another generation of service. The price of our chairs includes restoration, and they are ready to use - durable and usable for modern lifestyles.
The finish is excellent with very minor dents or scratches under the new finish, frames are solid and strong, free of wobble or flex. There are two chairs with old repaired breaks on the back, see photos.
Two arm chairs are especially graceful, measurements are 26" wide, 22" deep, 38" tall and seats are 18" high. Four side chairs are the same size except 22" wide.
