Carved of oak by famous American furniture maker, "Sligh," this grandfather or tall case clock is imposing. All glass panes are beveled except for the lower front door, which has a deeply carved arch design.
The brass 8 day movement keeps excellent time, with a choice of deep resonant chimes on the quarter hour - familiar Westminster from Big Ben in London, or St. Michael's, Whittington or silent. There is also an hour strike. A moon dial and second hand are beautiful on the engraved brass dial.
The original lustrous finish is in superb condition, accenting the gracefully arched top and fluted columns. About 20 years old, this stately vintage hall clock measures 26" wide, 16" deep and 85" tall.
