Spanish Adjustable Dropside 1930 Vintage Sofa or Settee with Fringe
Made in Spain about 1930, this sofa or settee has "drop-side" arms and was also called a "Knole" sofa. The original soft upholstery in a luscious red is worn at the corners, see photos.
Brass nailhead trim is original, springs are comfortable and supportive. Zippered cushions reverse to a tapestry side which has small staining, see photo. Brass posts secure silk ropes, maple bun feet have their original finish. Lever mechanisms on the back drops each side through several angled positions to flat.
Size of this antique European made furniture is 30" tall, 32" deep, the seat is 17" high, length with the arms raised is 5' and lowered, length is 7' 9" overall.
