Signed "C. S. Sperry, 168 Pearl St., New York," this "ogee" wall clock is a good runner. Dating from the 1850's, the matched flame mahogany case has a very fine finish.
The original 30 hour brass movement strikes the hour, and is driven by weights that hang on pulleys right and left of the movement. The worn original paper label is visible in the case, and wavy glass in the doors is also original, the reverse painting in the lower glass is remarkably well preserved.
There is wear to the original hand-painted wooden dial, the crank and brass pendulum also appear original. Measurements of this antique clock are 15 1/2" wide, 26" tall and 4" deep.
