Tall Case Grandfather 1820 Antique Clock, Walker of Kirhendbright, Scotland

Hand crafted about 1820 in Scotland, this classic Georgian tall case or grandfather clock is signed "Walker of Kirhendbright," Scotland.

The fine grained oak case has a beautiful pierced pediment with an old satiny finish in very fine condition.

Very well proportioned, there is a working lock and key in the door. There are restorations and shrinkage separations from age, see photos. Original hand painting and raised enamel on the iron dial has only minor losses.

The 8 day brass movement has been professionally cleaned and oiled, it keeps excellent time and strikes on the hour. Winding crank is modern, pendulum and weights appear original on this historic antique. The calendar wheel is not reliable.

Size of this understated furniture is 19" wide, 9" deep and 6' 10" tall.
