A "tramp art" jewel chest has a folk art case, lift out tray and photos of Berlin, Germany from the 1890's. Tramps whittled these pieces from old cigar boxes and other wood scraps, and sold them for pocket money.
This example is grander than most with gold plated filigree mounts, a velvet lining and the pictures behind glass. There are various losses, a chip to one glass pane and the interior has wear, see photos. The original painted finish is nicely worn.
Measurements of this charming antique are 13" long, 11" deep and 11" tall.
