Treasure Chest Trunk or Coffee Table
Hand carved on the Dutch Indies island of Java, this solid teak "treasure chest" trunk would make a wonderful coffee table.
Rustic and worn, the deep finish is quite warm with brass nail heads and patinated mounts for accents. Inside are small compartments.
There is loads of character and antique patina plus losses and repairs, especially at the front left corner. At the ends are wrought iron handles, corners have large hand-cut dovetails.
Size of this heavy antique furniture from the late 1800's is 43" long, 21" deep and 20" tall.
