An antique Victrola or "Victor Talking Machine" record player is model VV-XVI from around 1910. The carved mahogany case has a gleaming original and remarkably well-preserved finish on all sides with only minor scratches, see photos. Gold plated hardware is all original on this top-of-the-line large size model.
This player works very well, the quiet wind up spring motor is in good running order. Volume control is soft (both doors closed), medium (one door open) and loud (both doors open).
In the lower record storage area are original albums of various records. The famed Victrola mascot dog, Nipper, is listening to "His Master's Voice" in the design under the lid. There is also a gold decal from the original store where it was purchased, "Wurlitzer of Chicago."
Measurements of this nostalgic American furniture are 23" wide excluding the removable crank, 25" deep and 49" tall when the lid is closed.
