An unusual 1890 era Victorian writing desk has an upper gallery that can lock removable leather files. The writing surface is also gold tooled leather with a few mars and separations from age, see photos. There are two pull out shelves on each side, and this desk is finished on all sides - see photos. Note the gentle sway of the desktop due to age.
Solid mahogany, drawers have tiny hand cut dovetail joints and original brasses. Solid mahogany furniture, the original finish has stains and mars for antique character. It has been waxed and polished and needs only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth to maintain its patina.
