Hand carved of solid walnut during the late Victorian or Eastlake period about 1875, this charming little bench was called a "slipper bench" because it was used to put on and take off slippers, which were stored under the lid.
The finish is excellent, there are burl panels and expert detailing. Upholstery is hand made wood needlepoint on this nostalgic American antique furniture. Size is 23" long, 11" wide and 20" tall.
