A two piece bedroom set dates from the late Victorian or Eastlake period about 1880, and includes a queen size bed and marble top chest or dresser with mirror.
Crafted of solid walnut with matched burl panels, the finish is excellent with warm rich patina. Engraved brasses are original, the rosy marble is excellent and the mirror appears original on the chest.
Drawers have round or "pin and cove" dovetails, characteristic of the period. The bed has been adapted using the original side rails to fit standard modern queen bedding as shown in the photos.
Deep moldings and finely hand-carved details are impressive on this American antique furniture. Chest measurements are 50" wide, 21" deep, 7' 2" tall and the marble top is 30" high. Bed size is 5' 5" wide, 7' 3" long, the headboard is 7' tall and the footboard is 3' tall.
