A Victorian Gothic bookcase was hand made about 1830 of mahogany with matched flame grain. Quatrefoil filigree and four part columns are authentic.
The finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique library furniture. A secret compartment on the top has a lid, the lock and key are missing. Wavy glass panes are original, shelves adjust on wooden supports. The drawer has hand cut dovetail joints and a chamfered bottom, the heavy brass pull is of the period but not original to this piece.
Measurements are 48" wide, 19" deep and 6' tall.
