This gimbal mounted floating ship's compass has an original label in the wooden case signed "Wilcox & Crittenden, Middletown, Conn."
The finger dovetailed case and sliding cover have old worn paint and some losses on this 1940 era vintage nautical instrument.
In working order, the American made compass and case measure 5" square and 3 1/2" tall.
